Another creative outlet for Essence Ensemble has been launched - a series of classical concerts in the Blue Room at St Andrews, South Brisbane. Serendipity is a collaboration between five friends from the Opera Queensland Chorus: Beth McBride, Katie Rutledge, Heru Pinkasova, Adele King, and Dana Kingsford. We had a sell-out for the first show, so make sure you book tickets for June 22 and November 9th. This is a classy act!

Really enjoyed out concert at 4MBS Performance Studio in December. Another original song "Secrets" was launched, and the intimate venue was very enjoyable. Thanks Leo McFadden (guitar) and Dave Spicer (piano) for another fun music collaboration.

This weekend I will perform as soprano soloist for "Life and Love" concert, a wonderful program of Schumann and Brahms, linked by a narrative that tells the family story. Performed by chamber ensemble En Harmonie, we will next perform at the 4MBS Performance Studio on Saturday May 25th at 7.30pm. Details and ticket bookings on the 4MBS website. Hope to see you there!

Standing ovation at Northern Rivers Community Gallery

A full house at the Northern Rivers Community Gallery, Ballina, greatly enjoyed The Last Rose of Summer concert, responding with big smiles and a standing ovation. This concert was a true mixture of styles, not least in the collaboration of two classically trained sopranos with two jazz musicians (both soloists in their own right). Looking forward to the next appearance at the gallery later in 2013.

Thanks to Mervyn at Magda Community Artz for hosting our recent "Last Rose of Summer" concert in Bardon. As usual we really enjoyed chatting to our audience over a champagne at interval....we even had guests from the Gold Coast:) Favourite song from this program seems to be "Song to the Moon", also a favourite of ours and a great opportunity to open the lungs and soar. Other favourites were our remixes of Duparc's 'Extase', 'Will ye go Lassie go', and 'Blackbird'.
